About Embark Education

We believe in the innate potential that lies deeply within each and every one of us, and we are committed to creating learning experiences that provide youth and adults the space and time to flourish.

We do this by creating learner-centered experiences for adolescent students at Embark, the school, where we are deepening our work supporting youth learners to courageously inquire, engage, and discover a sense of self.

We do this by providing space for learner-centered educators to gather at Iterative, where we are expanding our offerings of curated learner-centered experiences that foster individual and shared learning to create more learner-centered environments for youth and adults.

We do this by exploring the dynamic intersection of business, community, and education, where we aspire to build learner-centered internship and apprenticeship programs in partnership with local businesses.

We are Embark Education, a learner-centered organization built on the foundation of radical trust and shifting mindsets about education can be.

Embark Education

At Embark Education, we support youth and adult learners to courageously inquire, engage, and discover a sense of self. We do this through curated learner-centered experiences that provide learners with the time, space, and resources to surface their brilliance. Our team of Directors and Coordinator is the thread that supports bringing these experiences to life.

We are not traditional teachers and even our use of the title “Educator” is only relevant if you go to the Latin root “Educo,” meaning to draw out from what is already inside. The micro-school is a student centered learning environment and the role of our educator team is to cultivate the environment where deep learning and exploration can occur. The education team is made up of dynamic individuals, steeped in understanding youth development, passionate about working with and alongside adolescents, and able to give students real leadership while still being committed to measurable academics.

Enterprise Team

Our shop leaders have a primary focus on what we call “putting bumpers on the bowling alley” of the operations. We are committed to developing student leaders, ownership and agency. That also means real world cause and affect with choices and actions of our student leaders, but within a framework that allows the businesses to continue to sustain and support the education experience.

Support Team

Embark Education is supported by Great Work, Inc. A Colorado based non-profit organization exploring the simple but powerful question of “how can we human better?” The Great Work, Inc. support team is made of up leaders, tactical managers, and creatives dedicated to propelling and amplifying our work.
