Design the on ramp to the school year you’ve always wanted. Join us for a week of professional rejuvenation, where we will center building community with like-minded educators, shifting mindsets around key components of learner-centered design, and building action steps that you can take home with you.

About Our Summer Institute

Our Summer Institute is a week-long program designed to rejuvenate, replenish, and restore. In the setting of our beautiful, welcoming space in the heart of North Denver, you will engage with a wide range of experiences, including learning in the community, to inspire new possibilities for your school or classroom. You will have ample time and support to make meaning of your experience in the ways that are most impactful for you. You will have around-the-clock access to our fully-stocked space to use as you please, whether brainstorming in our cozy loft or soaking up the sun on one of our two outdoor patios. We will nourish body, mind, and soul with bountiful shared meals, wellness offerings, and intentional time to connect and reflect as a community.

Who is The Summer Institute for?

The Summer Institute is ideal for those who feel stuck questioning the status quo approach of traditional learning, and who seek to uncover new possibilities in education. Whether you are an Educator or a School Leader; a Dean or a Department Head; a Policy Maker or a Consultant, if you believe there has got to be a better way forward, this week is for you. This experience is designed to unite like-minded individuals from a variety of roles and organizations who seek to make an impact in their communities.

Over the course of five, spacious days, join us as we:

Build Community

The Summer Institute unites those who question the status quo approach of traditional learning. We will build a community to strengthen our spirits and reinforce that we are not alone in this work.

Shift Mindsets

We will get out in the community for a range of experiences that will support us in gaining new perspectives and ultimately, new possibilities in our work. For example, visiting a museum to reimagine how to design space in a meaningful way. With guided reflections throughout the week, our team will support you on your journey of making meaning of your experiences.

Prepare for Action

Equipped with new relationships and new perspectives, we will work together to unearth tangible and intentional action that will transcend beyond our week together into your home environments. You will have the freedom and trust to use your time in the ways that feel most supportive to you. Independent work and design time is intentionally interwoven throughout the experience to give you space to apply your learnings to your work. The Embark team will be available for one-on-one sessions to support you in feeling ready to reintegrate back into your home environment once our week together has come to a close.
